F06 – Conduct a focused communication
This management activity belongs to the Program Closure group. The activities in this group tie up the loose ends and close the program when it’s complete or canceled.
This is a draft of the manual for review. If you have any comments, please email them to info@omimo.org. Please check back for the final version.
What
This is the time to send a message to everyone in the organization, letting them know that the program has finished.
Why
There are two purposes for this management activity:
- It shows appreciation for the team members, which encourages them for future programs.
- It lets everyone know that the program is finished, which is a reminder that they should know what’s going on in the organization and align themselves with it.
Who
Since this is the last activity of the program, it’s the responsibility of the sponsor to send this communication. That makes it possible for the sponsor to thank the program manager as well as the other people involved in the program.
How
Keep the message short and clear. If the program was canceled or if it wasn’t successful, make sure that your message is positive and encourages people to look forward to better programs in the future.
The team will be released at the end of this activity.
