What is the Leader’s Behavior Compass?
This Compass is a structured set of behaviors that make leaders more effective. It’s designed for leaders in the project ecosystem: portfolio managers, program managers, project managers, team managers, and more.
Why this Compass?
There’s a lot of content about leadership nowadays, but most of it is limited to one or a few dimensions, such as motivation, and overlooks the rest. This portrays an incomplete, misleading image of leadership that doesn’t work well in the real world.
This Compass is focused on creating a complete, balanced picture of leadership. It avoids buzzwords and focuses on behaviors rather than skills, because behaviors are observable and actionable, whereas skills are abstract. This makes the Compass a practical resource for many people.
How does the Compass work?
This Compass helps leaders compare their behaviors with the recommended ones, find differences, and consider changing them. Such changes require improving skills, adjusting habits, etc. This help can be facilitated with the Leadership Self-Assessment.
The Compass offers a “behavior model” that explains seven categories of behaviors and their relationships. These categories contain a total of nearly 100 desirable behaviors.
The Project Ecosystem
OMIMO is a family of the following modules, each designed to solve a different set of problems. There’s no single “best” module, but the right choice depends on your situation. Instead of picking the most popular type of module, identify your primary problems, then choose the module that addresses it best.
Announcements
All important updates about OMIMO modules are announced here. If you’re interested in using or contributing to the modules, it’s best to stay informed of these announcements by one of the following three methods:
