自由利用型のシステムはオープンかつ自由であり、現在も将来も制限なく使用することができます。これは非常に優れた特性です。なぜなら、独占所有型システムへの投資は、その所有者がポリシーを変更した場合に無駄になりかねないからです。たとえば、その独占所有型コンテンツをもとに作成したものを引き続き使用するために、すべてのユーザーやトレーナーに多額の料金を課し始めるといったケースが考えられます。
