What is the Leader’s Behavior Compass?
This Compass is a structured set of desirable behaviors for leaders in the project ecosystem. It includes portfolio managers, program managers, project managers, team managers, and more.
Why this Compass?
Many people gradually evolve into becoming a manager without having enough guidance along the way, which causes undesirable behaviors in them in response to problems. Such behaviors can harm their reputation and lower productivity.
Most available resources in this area focus on abstract skills, sometimes combined with buzzwords that don’t mean much. Instead of that, this Compass focuses on clear behaviors that are actionable and easy to observe and measure. That makes it easier for the leader to improve themselves and easier for their organizations to see the improvement.
How does the Compass work?
This Compass helps leaders compare their behaviors with the recommended ones, find differences, and consider changing them. Such changes usually require improving certain skills. This help can be facilitated with the self-assessment tool.
The Compass offers a “behavior model” that explains 7 categories of behaviors and their relationships. These categories contain a total of nearly 100 desirable behaviors.
